And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition…Everything else is secondary.

The Power of our words
Today I was running with my Ipod that my son set up for me with lots of cool music to get me inspired. I heard the song from Toby Mac called “Speak Life” and I almost fell of the treadmill! Wow! Today I get a chance to use my words to inspire, call higher and bring life to someone else! We have a great power to use everyday to use our words to encourage our kids, show love to our spouses and even inspire a stranger!

Thank You Basketball Note Cards – Powerful!
THE SIMPLE, PROFOUND POWER OF “THANK-YOU”
The other day, in response to a personalized team gift we had given my daughter’s basketball coach he sent me a Thank You note. It was handwritten, uncomplicated, and sincere. It reminded me (again, every time I receive a Thank You note) how cool and impacting a simple word of “Thanks!” can be. Thank you coach for all you do and thanks for taking a few moments to say “Thanks”, it means a lot!
A handwritten thank-you note is such a simple, yet powerful expression from the heart. It connects two people in a way that refreshes the soul and reminds us that we care, that we noticed, that we matter in each other’s hurried, often harried existence. A thank you note is short and to the point yet requires us to stop, take a precious moment and genuinely reflect on how someone else encouraged us. Take a moment today to write a Thank You note and combined with your passion for sports it will probably change someone’s life.

The Strengthening Power of Encouragement
FEEL THE AWESOMENESS!
“But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called ‘Today’ so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.” Hebrews 3:13
Sports can provide an incredible opportunity for life and character growth if through our experience in sports we become more courageous, more fearless, in a word; stronger. Life is fraught with fearful challenges. It’s a tendency for us all to respond to these challenges with defensive insecurity and thus over time become hardened and weakened on a heart level. Courage is the healthy response to fear. Courage keeps our spiritual hearts growing stronger and healthier. Courage empowers us to take the right steps forward. Where do we find courage? One powerful way is from mutual encouragement. Here are five practical ways we can encourage one another today:
- Encouraging words spoken and written
- Helpful empathy
- A listening ear
- An example of courage
- Friendship
The great thing about encouragement is that as we encourage the hearts of others, our own hearts are strengthened! Let’s encourage one another today in our various sports arenas and thus feel the awesomeness!
